Our 100% company-owned, custom-built, climate-controlled trucks are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to transport materials at temperatures from ambient to -196°C. OUR PROCESS
All freezers and refrigerators on our trucks are powered and monitored throughout the entire relocation process. We use advanced state-of-the-art temperature monitoring and control systems to ensure biological materials remain intact during transport. Our vehicles feature climate control technology that allows real-time temperature regulation and monitoring. The internal temperatures of all units are monitored and recorded, complying with ISO standard19005-1 (Document Management for long-term preservation of electronic documents PDF/A) and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 standards. In addition, pickup and delivery temperatures are manually recorded on the bill of lading. We provide real-time tracking, allowing immediate intervention if temperature deviations occur, to preserve the material’s integrity. Backup mechanical and liquid nitrogen freezers, along with a 233-liter low-pressure (22 psi) nitrogen supply tanks, are carried on each truck. Our packaging safeguards biological samples during transit. Upon delivery, units are evaluated for integrity, placed in their designated spot, and connected to an electrical outlet or nitrogen supply tank as needed.
CHAIN OF CUSTODY
Our chain of custody records include proof of pickup and delivery, detailing the origin and destination locations, names and signatures of personnel at both sites, serial numbers for each transported unit, power requirements, and their respective temperatures.
COMPLIANCE AND CONTINUOUS TRAINING
BioRelo holds a special Department of Transportation permit to transport category A and B infectious materials in mechanical and liquid nitrogen freezers. Our drivers follow strict Standard Operating Procedures, which address all aspects of our operations including emergency situations. BioRelo management provides regular training in HazMat, biological material transport and handling, chemical sorting, packing, emergency response, and maintaining client and patient confidentiality. BioRelo safeguards client and patient data with strict confidentiality, ensuring employees handle it with the utmost care.
QUALITY CONTROL AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
BioRelo’s QCQA unit conducts annual GMP training for employees and ensures compliance with our internal Quality Policy Manual. This system quickly identifies non-conformances and implements prompt, effective corrective actions, guaranteeing the consistent quality of all BioRelo services.
RISK MANAGEMENT
We offer tailored services to meet diverse transportation needs, understanding that different biological materials require unique handling. Our trucks feature critical equipment—such as four power generators, climate control units, and monitoring systems—that operate independently from the truck’s engine. All vehicles and equipment undergo regular, thorough inspections, testing, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Our drivers, trained and certified in hazardous materials handling, are equipped to transfer products to backup units when necessary, thoroughly documenting each step of the process.

Our cargo policy is designed specifically for the handling and transport of biological materials. Additionally, we maintain comprehensive coverage, including Commercial General Liability, Automotive Liability, Excess Umbrella, Crime, Cyber, Worker’s Compensation, and Employer’s Liability insurance.
